1. Introduction
Apex Trainer ("we," "us," or "our") is a sports training application developed by Apex Trainer LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Apex Trainer mobile application ("App").
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Name, email address, and account credentials (used to create and manage your account). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from that provider instead of a password.
- Athletic profile: age, gender (optional), height, weight, sports, positions, and skill level (used to personalize your training programs)
- Training goals, schedules, and any notes you add during program setup, such as injuries or equipment limits (used to shape your programs)
- Session feedback: difficulty ratings, energy levels, skipped drills, and which areas of your body a session worked (used to adapt your future sessions)
- Messages you send to the AI coach (saved so your conversation continues) and to the in-app support assistant (used to answer your question and not saved)
Information collected automatically:
- Subscription status and expiration date (used to manage access to paid features)
- Your device's timezone (used so your schedule and reminders match your local day). Training reminders are scheduled on your device; we do not collect a push notification token.
- Device type and operating system version (used for compatibility purposes)
- Usage analytics: which screens and features you use and key events such as starting or completing a session (used to understand how the App is used and improve it). You can turn analytics off at any time in the App: Profile tab → Preferences → Share usage data. Analytics are limited to product usage — we do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing activity, and we do not use analytics data for advertising. For users under 18, analytics are further limited to coarse information (such as an age range rather than an exact age).
- Crash and error reports: technical information about the App's state when something goes wrong (used to find and fix bugs)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Create and manage your account
- Build personalized training programs and sessions
- Adapt your training based on your feedback and progress
- Track your athletic progress over time
- Manage subscription access
- Send you training-related notifications (if enabled)
- Improve and maintain the App
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App. Each processes only the data needed for its function:
- Supabase — account authentication and data storage. Supabase Privacy Policy
- OpenAI — powers the AI coach and the in-app support assistant. When you message the coach, your athletic profile, training goals, session feedback, and messages are sent to OpenAI's API to write its replies and suggest changes to your plan. - Sentry — crash and error reporting, used solely to diagnose and fix technical problems. Sentry Privacy Policy
- Google — optional "Sign in with Google" authentication. Used only if you choose it as your sign-in method. Google Privacy Policy
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase's infrastructure, with access controls that restrict your data to your account alone. We implement industry-standard measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active, with one exception: conversations with the AI coach are automatically deleted once they have not been opened for 12 months. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the App: Profile tab → Info → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You may also request deletion by contacting us at the email below; we will process such requests within 30 days. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active Apple subscription — subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Apex Trainer is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Delete your account and data (in-app, or by request)
- Turn off notifications at any time in the App (Profile tab → Preferences → Notifications) or in your device settings
- Turn off usage analytics in the App (Profile tab → Preferences → Share usage data)

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
